Ken W. Bosworth
Professor and Chair, Department of Computer Science
College of Engineering
Idaho State University

Welcome to my new web page.

A Brief Biography:

I'm a full professor in the College of Engineering, Department of Computer Science, at ISU. Up until July 2001, I was in the Mathematics Department. I've been here at ISU since 1992. Previously I was at the University of Maryland's Chesapeake Biological Lab (1990-1992) and Utah State University (1984-1989).

My PhD, in applied Mathematics, was completed in 1984 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). My MS in Mathematics was awarded in 1980, also at RPI.
I spent my first year of graduate studies in Zurich, Switzerland, at the ETH (Swiss Federal Institute), in the Math/Physics division. My BS, awarded cum laude, was also from RPI, but in Physics (1977).

I thoroughly enjoy teaching at ISU, even more so in Engineering.

CS 444: Image Processing

CS 385-386: Data Structures and Algorithms I,II

Some stuff about me:

I love Pocatello and SE Idaho. However, the winters here just aren't long enough. That's the only drawback!

My interest are:

Research:

  • wavelets

  • nonparametric statistics

  • high performance computing and simulations

  • environmental modeling
